I love all products from Rifle PAPER Co. - but this little gem stole my heart! Only a best friend could find such a perfect little gift for me...one that matches my mani pedi ;) my pin game has gone up another notch, thanks Little Red. Xoxo!
These little nuggets made my day 100% happier!
I don't think there could be anything cuter in the plant world than this teeny tiny thimble cactus!! My heart is melting.
This print is by @bethanwoollvin and I think she's pretty damn talented!! Growing up (and to this day) I have a best friend nicknamed Little Red because of her bright red hair. Always think of her when I see "little red things" and it makes me smile.
The other day I was on Bored Panda and I thought I had died and gone to #cuteshit heaven. So, if you haven't seen this story yet I'm giving you the quick view and then you can head over to Bored Panda to take in the whole shebang.
The story starts with 1 Japanese grandma who has an adorable grandchild & a big fluffy white poodle in her life. These two are BFF's and their friendship is pretty unique. And pretty damn cute.
Thankfully, Grandma wasn't sitting around just watching the show - she decided to jump into action and document their sweet friendship for all of us to enjoy. I can't stop looking!!
Grandma didn't mess around! You can see from the gallery of images that she brought her A-game of creativity to the photoshoots. Thank you thank you Japanese Grandma for sharing so generously with the world.
She's been my best friend for 9 years and counting! Happy International Dog Day to the world of dog owners and dog lovers.
Another one of my favorite IG artists is @heynellie - a Los Angeles based illustrator who is full time making #cuteshit. This little print is named "Sweet Honey Bear" and it's for sale if you fall in love with it. Check out her entire IG feed for a glimpse of more adorable work, and quite a lot of cats! And for a full on exhibition go to her website & ENJOY!
Who isn't a lover of instagram these days? NOBODY - that's who. One of my favorite feeds to follow is @ohhappydaypartyshop - because every stinkin' image they post is unbelievable #cuteshit. I hope their business is thriving, because my hat is off to them for not only their amazing IG feed, but their selection of creative party supplies. They seriously are so damn cute - they make you happy. Go check them out at www.ohhappypartyshop.com and go check out my instagram feed @curatorofcuteshit where I feature all sorts of #cuteshit and Oh Happy Day Party Shop!
Oh Kate Spade I ADORE you!! This season she's launched a totally, ridiculously adorable frenchie line of products #birthdaygoals 📷 @katespadeny
Ok how fucking cute is this little lady & her oversized charm necklace, with a ruffled white blouse?! Peek on IG @buriedtreasures
I will always remember the time I saw a french bulldog. I was working as a waitress at the Summerland Beach Cafe. An older gentleman, sitting out on table 52 had the cutest brown teddy bear doggie sitting next to him. I had NEVER been a dog lover...but I fell in love with the cuteness of the frenchie.
Anyone who crosses my path in life soon knows about my life for the french bulldog. My extensive network of fellow frenchie lovers, the endless inventory of frenchie collectibles, the 2 foot by 3 foot framed portrait of the love of my life (Pippin the frenchie) which hangs in my living room... you get the idea. I literally think frenchies can take sadness away and bring joy to everyone around them. I call them the Hello Kitty of the dog world :) And you know I love the Kitty!
Hello Kitty and I are the same age, we were both born in 1974. I've always had a deep love and kinship for my cosmic kitty sister. So, as our big 40th birthdays were on the horizon last year, I decided to go travel to Hello Kitty's hometown - London - to celebrate in style. And, guess where Hello Kitty came to celebrate her 40th birthday? Los Angeles!! What are the chances that the world's first Hello Kitty Con and Hello Kitty's 40th birthday celebration all were going to be happening IN MY HOME TOWN while I'm drinking high tea in West London?
Luckily for me, I came back to LA to find the Japanese American National Museum was exhibiting Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty. It's the first large-scale Hello Kitty museum retrospective in the United States and it was going to be in Los Angeles through May. YOU BET YOUR ASS I GOT RIGHT DOWN THERE! Take a look!
I am a BIG fan of The Dieline packaging blog!
I'm not just saying that because I write as an editor for them (how lucky am I?). I drank their kool-aid years back when I first met Andrew Gibbs at his Box Bottle Bag book release party. He is one inspiring man.
This past week, the 6th Annual Dieline Awards were presented at the HOW Design Live! Conference. These awards are basically the Oscars for graphic designers! There is the Best in Show, Editor's Choice, Studio of the Year, all sorts of amazing accolades for insanely creative work.
And, today I am announcing my personal choice for winner of the NEW #cuteshit Packaging Category, that I just created for fun (Disclaimer: This is just my opinion, however the company did win 1st Place Confectionary, Snacks, Desserts for real!) . The winner of this first time award is the adorable & clever candy packaging design for Pams Confectionery Range. Check this ADORABLE work out below!
Back in the day...I used to move into an apartment and immediately start picking our paint colors for the walls (and ceilings!). There was something inside of me that just couldn't hold back. I simply adore seeing people make daring decision with their homes. You know that neighbor who painted there house pink on the cul-de-sac? OK, maybe that was a bit of an eyesore, but you get what I'm saying.
When I moved into my current home over here at The Burnside Castle, everyone was shocked I didn't put on my grubby paint clothes and start taping the place off. It was white. Pure, bright, light white. With gorgeous high ceilings and architectural details they just don't come close to making anymore. I decided to leave the place a blank canvas and decorate with color everywhere else.
I've LOVED my apartment every day I've lived here. But looking at the "safe" color palette (see pics below) around me, when compared to what COULD be makes me ready for change. I mean, my home is dope - but I think it's time to step it up with some raspberry side tables, bright yellow pillows, maybe a turquoise couch. Honestly, I think brights would look nice against Pippin's complexion.
The Burnside Castle
My home is looking rather dull after seeing that last set of pics!
Oh look at the little happy toast USB drive! His face is too damn cute!
I have an affinity for inanimate objects with faces. Pea pod family with faces. Marshmallow gang with faces. Chairs with faces. BRING IT ON. How can two circles and a line possibly make something look SO happy? Or sad? Or really frustrated? If I could answer that question I'd be an illustrator instead of a designer.
Oh please let me introduce the little nugget that brings THE MOST joy to my life...Little Miss Pippin.
There are lists of other things that make me smile, like strawberries & stripes, hearts & polka dots, and naughty word logos - but Pippin steals the show. And, yes that is a professional portrait of the little miss! I have an awesome Phodographer (ha!) who has captured many pretty pics throughout our adventures together. Check out some of her work!
